George Russell (Mercedes-AMG F1 Team) remporte le GP d’Autriche 2026 en s’imposant devant Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) et Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes-AMG F1 Team). Le Britannique se relance ainsi au classement du Championnat du Monde de Formule 1 2026. Du côté des pilotes français, Isack Hadjar (Red Bull Racing) termine 6ᵉ, Pierre Gasly se classe hors des points, à la 13ᵉ place, une première cette saison. Quant à Esteban Ocon (Haas F1 Team), il n’a pu faire mieux que 16ᵉ.
Après avoir décroché la pole position du GP d’Autriche, sous régime de drapeau jaune, George Russell a réalisé un bon départ. Les premiers tours de la course ont été animés, notamment grâce à Lewis Hamilton, vainqueur du GP de Barcelone.

Parti sur une stratégie agressive à 3 arrêts, Lewis Hamilton a fait le spectacle en piste contre un Max Verstappen qui a réussi à tenir le rythme imposé par George Russell.

On a même pensé un moment, sur les terres de Red Bull Racing, que Max Verstappen allait pouvoir gagner le GP d’Autriche. Mais, dans les derniers tours, il a dû résister au retour de Kimi Antonelli. George Russell signe une 2ᵉ victoire cette saison, une semaine avant son GP national, à Silverstone.
