Pour sa première saison en F1 en 2016, le Haas F1 Team a marqué 29 points, tous inscris par le pilote français Romain Grosjean. Quelques heures avant le début des premiers essais hivernaux, la VF-17, qui porte également les espoirs de Kevin Magnussen, a été dévoilée.
Avant de la découvrir en vidéo, Günther Steiner, le Team Principal du Haas F1 Team, nous présente la VF-17 : « Excepté les pédales, tout est très différent par rapport à l’ancienne monoplace. On essaie toujours de faire une voiture plus rapide et donc plus légère. Désormais, on peut ajouter du poids et mieux le répartir sur la voiture. L’aéro est complètement nouveau, comme les pneus, et nous allons devoir faire des ajustements. La voiture est plus agressive au niveau du look. »
