Lotus F1 Team a dévoilé sur YouTube la E21 qui sera pilotée par Romain Grosjean et Kimi Räikkönen pour le championnat du Monde de F1 2013. Cette nouvelle monoplace est très proche de celle de 2012, le règlement technique n’ayant pas évolué.
Eric Boullier (Team Principal) a fixé des objectifs élevés comme il nous l’explique : « Je pense qu’il est juste de dire que de grandes choses sont possibles. La progression réalisée entre 2011 et 2012 prouve ce dont nous sommes capables. Ceci ajouté au potentiel de nos pilotes nous offre un puissant cocktail pour la saison à venir. Nous visons clairement la troisième place du Championnat Constructeurs après nos performances de l’an dernier. Nous avons besoin que les deux pilotes rapportent des points. Enstone sait comment remporter des Championnats. »
Les premiers essais officiels en prévision de la saison 2013 débuteront en Espagne sur le circuit de Jerez de la Frontera (5 février). Deux autres séances de quatre jours seront organisées à Barcelone. Le premier Grand Prix aura lieu le 17 mars à Melbourne (Australie).
Il y aura même deux français au sein de l’équipe Lotus F1 cette saison. En effet, Nicolas Prost a été nommé pilote de développement.
