Sur une piste sèche et dans le beau jardin anglais de Silverstone dédié au Formule 1, Lewis Hamilton a réalisé le meilleur temps des qualifications en 1:29.607. Le pilote britannique s’élancera donc en pole position du Grand Prix de Grande-Bretagne demain (30 juin 2013). Mercedes F1 et les « flèches d’argent » réalisent encore un superbe doublé avec la seconde position sur la grille de départ de Nico Rosberg à 0.452 s de son coéquipier. Les deux Red Bull sont 3ème et 4ème avec respectivement Vettel à 0,604 s de Hamilton et Webber. La déception vient des Ferrari, Fernando Alonso ne partira que de la 10ème place et Massa de la 12ème.
Du côté des français, Jules Bianchi s’est classé à la 20ème place, Charles Pic est juste devant son compatriote. Jean-Eric Vergne, se loupe dans sa dernière tentative prometteuse en Q2 et se hisse au 13ème rang. Romain Grosjean s’élancera de la 4ème ligne grâce à son 8ème temps. Le français de chez Lotus F1 sera devant Räikkönen, 9ème.
