Suite à la situation sanitaire qui s’aggrave notamment au Japon, les autorités locales ont décidé de ne pas autoriser l’organisation du GP du Japon. Aucune monoplace de Formule 1 ne roulera donc sur le circuit de Suzuka pour la seconde année consécutive.
Il faudra donc patienter une année supplémentaire pour connaître le nom du pilote qui succédera à Valtteri Bottas en tant que vainqueur du GP du Japon, ceci en espérant que la pandémie causée par le Covid-19 soit au plus vite derrière nous et permette la tenue du GP du Japon 2022.
Liberty Media, en charge de la promotion et de l’organisation du Championnat du Monde de Formule 1, a également indiqué travailler sur une révision du calendrier F1 2021 sachant qu’il faudra remplir la case du 21 novembre pour remplacer le GP d’Australie.

Rappelons que la prochaine épreuve de la saison F1 2021 est programmée au 29 août en Belgique sur le tracé de Spa-Francorchamps, Esteban Ocon ayant remporté le GP de Hongrie le 1er août dernier avant la pause estivale.
